As the island population grew, the need for additional fire safety equipment was required. The 2,272 square foot addition included (2) apparatus bays and truck storage. The exterior of the building received new siding, windows, roof and doors. There is a memorial to the 9/11 tragedy just outside of the front office door. The Peaine Fire Station is centrally located near downtown and the boat docks.
